Foil shiny side up or dull side up?

I did a little online research and some say it doesn’t really make a difference, others say shiny side up so it reflects heat better, what do you think?

  1. I was having the same dilemma but after some research I got to know that there isn’t a big difference but if we think technically, the shiny side would reflect a small amount more radiation than the dull side. So if you are wrapping food in foil, the shiny side in would probably make it a tiny bit hotter, and the shiny side out a tiny bit cooler.
I had some bad experience recently with the foil so I gave the excuse that I didn’t know which side was better so ended up with raw potatoes 😛
Now I will try the above trick and check if it’s true. 🙂

  2. Both of them are fine as long as you know how to cook!!!!! 😛
Don’t give the excuse that this side is better than the other, just learn how to cook and all will be fine. LOLOLOL 🙂
