Whenever you cook a great main course whether it was steak, chicken or fish, in my opinion a great side dish would be small cubed potatoes cooked to your desire, bare in mind that potatoes are carbs and eating small portions of it is necessary if you want to stay fit and at the same time it gives you energy, of course how you cook them makes a whole lot of difference.
With this side you can actually add any ingredient that you like, season them with any type of spices that you love and your potatoes will turn out amazing, check this recipe.
For two people you’ll need:
-3 Medium sized potatoes peeled and cubed
– 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
– 1 Tbsp Garlic salt
– 1 Tbsp Onion powder
– 1 tsp salt
– olive oil
1. First you need to either steam your potatoes for exactly 1 min or microwave for about 3 minutes, and the reason i do this is because the potatoes become so soft from the inside and then when you cook them in your pan they crisp from the outside, when you do your pre cooking do not add any spices to them yet.
2. Then mix your potatoes with your spices.
3. Heat olive oil in skillet and crisp those potatoes till fully cooked! if the olive oil tasted too strong you can mix canola with olive oil.
Easy! i remember once watching an excellent recipe from Gordon Ramsay where he cooks potato halves in olive oil first with thyme and garlic seasoning to crisp from the outside, then he places them in the oven till they fully cook from the inside, also a great idea of cooking potatoes!
