This is a very cool dish with very simple ingredients, takes no time and also great money value!
– 2 cups of rice
– 2 cups of brown lentils
– 1 huge onion diced
– 1/4 canola oil
1. Boil the lentils till cooked, drain and keep the water.
2. In a pan heat oil and cook the onions on low heat for about 10 minutes till caramelized, make sure to season with salt, they will become so brown that’s when you’ll know it’s time to add in the rice “after you’ve washed it and soaked it in water for about 15 minutes” you stir and add in 4 cups of your lentil water then add in the drained lentils.
3. you’ll know it’s all done when the water has completely evaporated.
See so simple! best served with yoghurt!
